Delete your account

You can delete your Capture The Map account and everything we hold about you at any time. There is no waiting period and nothing to ask us for first.

In the app

Open the app, go to Profile, and choose Delete account. You will be asked to confirm. The deletion runs immediately.

If you no longer have the app

Email privacy@capturethemap.com from the address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. We will action it and confirm by reply. If you email from a different address we will have to ask you to prove the account is yours, so use the original one where you can.

What gets deleted

Everything tied to you, in one go:

• Your account and profile. Email address, password hash, display handle and profile picture.
• Your activities. Every walk, run and ride you recorded or uploaded, and the matched street geometry derived from them.
• Your claims and territory. The ground you held goes neutral rather than passing to anyone else.
• Your stash. Drops, inventory, loadout, credits and the roll records behind them, including the location a drop was picked up at.

What stays, and why

A few records belong to other players rather than to you, so they survive with every link to you removed:

• If you took a street from someone, their claim history keeps the fact it was taken, with your identity stripped from it.
• A ward stone of theirs that you spent stays spent, without recording who spent it.
• A club you founded passes to its longest-standing remaining member. If you were the last one in it, the club is deleted with you.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. We keep no backup copy of a deleted account to restore from, so if you come back later it will be as a new player on empty ground.
